The Gemach Project was developed to aid people in under developed countries by providing interest free loans to people in need to start a business.
The amount of benefits generated by The Gemach Project are innumerable.
The Gemach Project takes donations and provides them directly to those that are in the greatest need. It provides these funds to anyone who can justify their business. It does so not as a handout but a helping hand. It does not strip the recipients of their dignity but in fact gives them dignity in a world that does not give them any.
The Gemach Project provides a way to help people and villages become self sustaining.
Thus while providing them with a means to care for themselves and it can teach their children how to prepare for the future.
True community development begins at the individual and family level. Development can only succeed at the community level when people are succeeding at home.
We believe there are five different areas which are essential for the well being of every family unit. Those five areas are; sanitation, health care, nutrition, education, and economic security. Unfortunately no matter how well you train the people living in these areas on how to build an adequate sanitation system, to get their children immunized, to eat a balanced diet and to see that their children are in school, their ability to do these things is limited greatly by the fifth item, economic security.
Unless we address the area of economic security, we are afraid that it will be a never ending battle. Each family will address the most pressing issue of the first four and neglect the others. If they do not have enough money for food all others will suffer.
However, with economic security firmly in place every family can address all of the other items and they will flourish.
